My Mission

I help people find confidence, clarity, & direction as they are navigating divorce. Maybe you're contemplating whether divorce is the right move. Maybe you're overwhelmed by the legal system. Maybe you've lost who you are after years as a mom. After going through the entire cycle and identifying many challenges with the family law system, I chose to leverage my career in public health, patient advocacy, and tech to guide others to approach divorce with more knowledge and grounding and ultimately design and build a life of joy.

I am based in the Seattle area and serve clients all around the world.

K. R. (Seattle Area)

“I highly recommend Angela Chu as a divorce and co-parenting coach. Angela has an incredibly calm, grounded presence and a level-headed approach that is deeply reassuring during one of life’s most difficult transitions. She brings a wealth of personal experience to her work, which gives her guidance both authenticity and depth.

Angela has a compassionate, non-judgmental way of meeting you exactly where you are, while gently and skillfully guiding you toward where you need to go. She has a deep understanding of the emotional, logistical, and relational challenges that lie ahead in divorce and co-parenting, and she navigates them with clarity, empathy, and wisdom.."

Career Changes / New Identities

Divorce involves loss but can also be framed as an opportunity. I love helping women explore and redefine new identities, especially after career breaks and parenting time.

Co-Parenting

I always bring a lens of putting the kids first and help you think through creating environments of love and stability for children, navigating the creation of two home families, strategies for parenting plans, and gracefully adjusting to new households.

Cross Cultural or Inter-Racial Couples

There are often unique dynamics that influence divorce and separation for families that come from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds and I bring special awareness to these in my practice.

What Coaching Is (and Is Not)

Coaches are your advocate, your strategy partner, and your sounding board.

Coaches help you see things differently, gain new ideas and perspectives, understand the family law eco-system, and build up your team of experts to up your game.

Coaches can help you gather your data, review your documents, and draft your parenting plan to prepare for meetings with lawyers.

Through my training and personal experience I've discovered that many of the challenges that make divorce so heart-wrenching are in our own mindsets, and that's why coaching can be so impactful.

What is a Divorce Coach?

Coaching isn't legal advice.

I'm familiar with Washington State family law but not a lawyer and won't provide legal advice. I can refer to you great lawyers and help you think through how to choose one.

Coaching isn't therapy.

Many coaching tools draw from counseling and psychology and my ultimate aim is for you to feel more empowered and more at peace. You are invited to be vulnerable and I'll have tissues, but if clients need more mental health support, coaching works best when paired with ongoing therapy.

Coaching isn't "Pro Divorce".

As a divorce coach, I don't advocate for divorce specifically, I advocate for my clients, and what they want for their current phase of life.  It might be a divorce, it might be a marriage, it might be a different creative solution. I am here for it all.
